Linn Martini
Marine Biologist
OS Member & Website Administrator
MSc in Sustainable Production & Utilization of Marine Bioresources
Linn has always had a strong passion for the marine environment and started her academic journey with a double Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science and biology. By a lucky coincidence she ended up in Bodø and first joined Ocean Sounds as an intern in 2025 when she studied her Master’s degree in Sustainable Production & Utilization of Marine Bioresources at the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at Nord University. During the internship she assisted with photo-ID of pilot whales (Globicephala melas), planning the Sea of Sounds project and beginning the work of improving the website.
After completing the internship, Linn continued volunteering for Ocean Sounds as an active member. “It’s an honor to have this opportunity, to work alongside Heike and all OS members, and to contribute to research and efforts which helps marine life.” She highlights the importance of the work done by non-profits and urges everyone who has the ability to donate, or by other means support OS, to do so.
In March 2025 she also had the pleasure of taking Sea of Sounds’ VR exhibition to the European Ocean Days in Brussels, Belgum, together with Marie and Michal Loveký (Seanergy). A great opportunity for networking and advocating for Ocean Sounds.
