Good News Everyone!
Our Sea of Sounds project will be held at Stormen Library in Bodø on the 14th of February- and you’re invited!
Share some love for the marine mammals of the Vestfjord together with Ocean Sounds this Valentine’s Day!
Come to discover the language of the whales, learn about different whale species, and how the invisible threat of noise pollution affects them and their environment. We have created an interactive and fun event that you simply cannot miss!
Doors open at 10:15 and you can enjoy all of our activities until 16:00
What you can expect:
- An immersive underwater VR world where you can embody a whale and experience their way of life and the challenges they face
- A Whale exhibition featuring rare whale bones and professional photographs from the Vestfjord
- Live music by Alex South (alexsouth.org), a Scotland-based musician and researcher working with clarinets and electronics inspired by animal communication. Alex’s work blends art and science to reveal the rich and often hidden sound worlds of other species.
- Educational workshops from a passionate team of biologists
- Hands-on music workshop with Alex, exploring sound through listening and experimentation.
This is a free event for all ages! Drop by before your evening plans and create some food for thought and conversation. Bring yourself, a friend, partner or family along with a good spirit and curiosity!
